Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do you do your own Stone Masonry or do you just provide access?
A. Yes and No. A lot of sites have their own Stone Masons and in this situation we would normally do the re-fixing or repair work but we can offer a Stone Masonry service if required.

Q. What are the benefits of Rope Access?
A. Rope Access techniques are more flexible than traditional scaffolding. There is a greater versatility in scheduling work allowing work to be broken up into phases to, perhaps, allow special events to take place. Conservation of a single gargoyle or grotesque can be done with minimal disruption or disturbance. There is a cost-benefit too in contrast to scaffolding, where scaffolding is the major cost of a project. Due too its flexibility, Rope Access can conduct every aspect of conservation work and stone masonry virtually anywhere on your building.

Q. How safe is Rope Access?
A. Rope Access has the highest safety standards using the British Standard Code of Practice BS7985 and all work is done to IRATA standards, the highest in the construction industry.

Q. Does it damage the buildings?
A. All work is done using Ropes and Soft Tape Slings eliminating the possibility of any damage to the buildings.

Q. Can you access Spires?
A. Yes. Using techniques evolved fom climbing we can access spires for repair work or inspections.
